There is always some meaning in a name so why not the characters of Pretty Soldier Sailormoon? I have taken it upon myself to look deeper and find out what's in a name.
Translation: The Japanese katakana "daiana" is a pretty easy guess as to it's meaning. It's Diana, goddess of nature, fertility, and childbirth in Roman mythology. Diana was also a moon goddess and was idenitified with the Greek goddess Artemis. It follow with the moon theme of the cats. Each of them was named for a moon goddess or someone relating to the moon.
