Sailor Jupiter >> What's in a Name?

There is always some meaning in a name so why not the characters of Pretty Soldier Sailormoon? I have taken it upon myself to look deeper and find out what's in a name.

Translation: The kanji Naoko-sensei used for the last name has a different translation than some might think. The first kanji, "ki", translates to "wood, tree". However, contrary to popular belief, the second kanji used in her name does NOT translate to "of the". It translates to "field". The hiragana that follows makes the word, "makoto", which translatates to mean "truth, sincerity". This is actually a common surname in Japan.

However, the name is a pun as sounds when spoken like the phrase "ki no makoto" which means "Makoto of Wood". The kanji in her name that stands for "ki" is also the first kanji in the word "mokusei" which means "Wood Star" which refers to the planet Jupiter.
