Mizuno Ami is the aquatic soldier of the planet Mercury, Sailor Mercury. As a civilian she is a studious girl who attends both school and cram school. Her dream to become a doctor requires her to do much studying but she genuinely seems to enjoy knowledge. Ami is an extremely shy girl, not only with people in generaly, but potential love interests. Her worst fear is receiving a love letter. Underneath that there is a kind, warm girl waiting for her first love. Read on to find out about the Pure Heart of Mizuno Ami.

Episode 027: Love for Ami-chan? The Boy Who Sees the Future. Episode 041: I Won't Run Away from Love Again! Ami and Mamoru Face Off. Love Interest: Urawa Ryo Details: Out of all the relationships that Ami could have had, Urawa seemed like it would be the one. When they met, Urawa really liked Ami and tried hard to protect her. With his ability, he discovered her true identity and wanted her to kill him when he became a monster. Ami would not give up on him. In the only other episode they met up (as far as we're shown) they are struggling with their emotions and admit feelings for each other. Urawa is once again attacked by the enemy and saved by her. He leaves the city again because of his father's job, but says he'll visit again. End Result: Well, while people may dream that something came of this relationship, we are never shown anything beyond these two episodes.

Episode 144: Sparkling Summer Days! Ami, the Girl with a Sea Breeze. Love Interest: Tsukino Shingo Details: Shingo (Usagi's younger brother) developed a crush on the kind girl, probably because she was genuinely nice to him. The other girls just wanted to use him as a bodyguard against geeky guys at the beach. Ami even saved his life using CPR when he was attacked by Tiger's-Eye. End Result: Ami only saw Shingo as a friend, but she showed that her friends are very important to her.

Episode 151: True Power Explodes! Ami's Melody in Heart. Love Interest: NT-san Details: Ami writes a poem to a melody she downloaded from the internet. The creator's internet name was NT and with luck she meets the man who composed it. It seems that at first Ami has a crush on NT but finds out he has a girlfriend. She looses confidence in showing him her poem and runs away. After a battle with the enemy she finds her true self once again and is able to show him the poem. End Result: Since he was already taken nothing could have come out of this relationship except friendship.

SMSS Special: Ami-chan's First Love Love Interest: Mercurius Details: Ami never met Mercurius but she viewed him as a rival since he was keeping on par with her scores in tests. She also received a love letter and thought that it was him who sent it (while it was actually the villain Bonnoon who sent it). Ami started taking many cram courses and practice tests in hopes to meet the guy. She said it was trilling to have a rival. Usagi found out that Umino knew Mercurius and when she and the other girls were introduced to the mystery man they found that he looked similar to Umino. Ami invisioned him to look like a young Einstein. Needless to say, the girls didn't have the heart to tell her what he really looked like. End Result: Since Ami never met him and never persued him after the special ended it's safe to assume that nothing ever became of this strange romance... if you want to call it that.

Sailormoon Sailor Stars (eps 173-200) Love Interest: Seiya Kou, Taiki Kou, Yaten Kou Details: I was going to list them each separately but I didn't really find the need to since these three were just quick crushes. Like the other soldiers, Ami had a crush on the three idols and seems that she would have been happy catching any one of the three. Though, she did show more of an interest in Taiki at first. End Result: She didn't end up with any of the three. It could be that they ended up being women or that they were going back to their home planet or even that the Three Lights weren't interested in finding dates while on Earth ^_^
