Sailor Uranus >> What's in a Name? There is always some meaning in a name so why not the characters of Pretty Soldier Sailormoon? I have taken it upon myself to look deeper and find out what's in a name.
Translation: The first kanji used for her surname, "ten", translates to "sky or heaven". The second kanji used "ou" translates to "king, ruler". Then, the hiragana used to make her give name, "haruka", translates to "far away, distant". So, her name would come to the translation of "Distant Heaven King". Distant Heaven King would make implications to the mythological figure Uranus. Uranus was the god/ruler of the skies. This would explain her love for riding like the wind and being able to sense something wrong just from the way the wind was blowing. Also, Tennou-sei is the Japanese word for the planet Uranus.
