Usagi trips over and crunches Luna at their first meeting. She removed an X-shaped band-aid from her forehead, revealing a crescent shaped mark. It turned out that some bratty kids has put the bandage on her which has prevented her from speaking and messed with her detection ability. She appeared to Usagi again later and revealed to the girl that she was Sailor Moon. After this point she helped guide Usagi while searching for the Phantom Silver Crystal and the princess. After it was revealed that Usagi was the princess and some time had passed, Luna fell in love with a human named Kakeru. She was granted her Christmas wish and became human. Unfortunately, Kakeru had a girlfriend so Luna said good-bye to him. Later it was revealed that she was from the Planet Mau along with Artemis (and Sailor Tin Nyanko & Sailor Mau). She and Artemis had humanoid forms as well as their cat forms.

Luna (cat form)
This is the form that Luna takes most of the time. She is a small black cat with a crescent moon mark on her forehead and has the power to speak.

Luna (human form)
Luna first took this form when she fell in love with a human man named Kakeru. The sailor soldiers wished for her to become human and Luna was able to be with Kakeru for a short while. She took this form a few more times in the series.
