Rei is the beautiful shrine maiden who came to live with her grandfather at the Hikawa Shrine before she entered grammar school. Her mother passed away early and her father was busy with his job in politics. She is in T*A Girls Academy and meets Usagi and Ami when there are strange happenings at the Sendai Hill bus. She turns out to be Sailor Mars and another ally to fight beside Sailor Moon. With her keen intuition and spiritual guidance, she is a great asset to the Sailor Soldiers. She is trained in archery and helps with her grandfather's shrine. She doesn't trust men and has no wish to date or get married. Instead, she wants to stay at the shrine and one day become head priestess.
