Ami is a kind genius girl who is in Juuban Middle School's 8th grade class five. She meets Usagi and turns out to be Sailor Mercury, Sailor Moon's first ally to fight by her side. Ami helps out the Sailor Soldiers with her quick thinking and brilliant strategies. Her mother is always working late at the hospital. She's a doctor devoted to saving strangers lives. Her father is a painter who loves relaxing in life and nature. He only travels to sketch and never sees Ami's mother. One day he decided to stay at his atelier (workshop/artist's studio) in the forest and never came back, though he sends Ami a postcard on her birthday. With so much time alone, it was good that she made friends and received a 'new' family to keep her company.
