Court Evil Part Three: The Last Mission. Chapter One: To Fly Again. Jupiter led the way down the hall, the two Soldiers running close behind. A squad of six monsters on patrol duty stepped into the hall from an adjacent hallway intersecting them. The monsters reacted instantly, rifles up and blazing. Jupiter and Venus rolled to opposite sides of the hall, rifles blazing as their shoulders slammed hard into the walls. Mars, still standing and in the middle of the hall, calmly brought his rifle to bear, shooting rapidly from the far left side and strafing his gun across to the right. He mowed down the opposition easily. All six monsters were little more than mounds of bloody flesh before Mars let go of the trigger. “Nice shooting,” Jupiter congratulated. He tore off the breastplate of one of the monsters and tossed it to Venus. “We better disguise ourselves. There is no point in getting killed before this mission is over with.” He stripped another breastplate from another monster and put it on himself. Five minutes later, three human-sized monsters stepped into the main training gym, about a three minute walk from where the patrol monsters were slaughtered by the Male Soldiers. One of the man-sized monsters lifted the black visor of his helmet and turned to his companion, similarly dressed in black armor. “These things are next to impossible to see through, Mars!” the monster complained. The other monster lifted his own visor and replied, “It was YOUR idea to put on these stupid things, Jupiter! Don’t complain to me!” Mars looked at the third “monster,” “You aren’t going to complain too, are you, Venus?” The third “monster” shook his head. Jupiter and Mars both lowered their visors. “You sure this is where Neo-Sailor Moon is, Jupiter?” Venus asked behind his helmet, the visor making his voice echo loudly inside. “Ouch! Damn! That hurts!” Venus complained, his ears ringing painfully inside his helmet. “This is where Moon trains, but I don’t know if he’s here today,” Jupiter admitted. He stiffened suddenly. Mars and Venus also stiffened. Someone was resting a sword against each of their necks, the cold steel finding a thin chink in their neck guards and slipping through, the razor edges of each of the swords biting into skin, but not breaking it. “Who are you?” a clearly feminine voice asked coldly. The speaker was the one holding a sword to Mars’s neck. “You are too human in size to be a monster,” a young male voice said. The owner of that voice had a blade to Venus’s neck. “Identify yourselves. Name, rank, identification number.” That last voice was gruff and aging, but the speaker held his sword with the familiarity of a professional. His sword bit deeper into Jupiter’s neck to stimulate a response. “Gae-dhal, stand down,” Jupiter said, voice cold and calm. “It is us, the Sailor Soldiers. We’ve come to stop Beryl here and now. The Female Sailor Soldiers failed. This is our revenge and retribution.” The blade eased off Jupiter’s neck as his “captor,” Gae-dhal, sheathed his sword. He nodded to his companions, who also took their blades away from Mars’s and Venus’s necks and sheathed them. “Jupiter.” Gae-dhal’s voice made ice seem warm. “Being a Sailor Soldier is more than enough reason for me to kill all of you.” He looked at Mars and Venus in turn. “Its good to see you both. Alive, at any rate.” Mars rubbed his neck and looked at the woman who had placed her sword to his neck earlier. Gae-dhal saw his look and made introductions. “The woman is my daughter, Pyrite. The boy is my son, Iridium.” Pyrite and Iridium both crossed their arms in front of them, an elbow on their sheathed sword hilts. “It’s a pleasure,” Mars said sarcastically. He rubbed his neck. Pyrite had definitely pressed hard on that sword. “Gae-dhal, I wasn’t expecting to see you in the Negaverse wearing a Negaverse uniform.” Mars eyed Gae-dhal’s gray uniform with open contempt. “I adapted to the times, Mars.” Gae-dhal’s eyes simmered. “Gae-dhal,” Jupiter said, “I have something to show you.” Reaching into a back pocket, Jupiter pulled out the mask he wore earlier. He showed it to Gae-dhal. “You know this mask.” Gae0dhal nodded. It was the mask of Zodiac. “Guess what?” Jupiter’s grin took in his ears. “I’ve been spying here, in the Negaverse, for the past few years under the alias of Zodiac.” “WHAT!?” Gae-dhal, Pyrite, and Iridium exclaimed in total shock. Jupiter looked hard at Gae-dhal’s children. “I have something important to tell the Sailor Soldiers, and only the Sailor Soldiers. I do not know if I can trust you two kids with the information I am about to impart.” He looked at Gae-dhal. The old fighter snorted derisively. “You can trust my children, Jupiter. They hate the Negaverse as much as I do, but we adapt to the times. You can trust them.” Jupiter nodded. “You three already know about my plans concerning sending the “specialist on Mars” to be sent to the future.” He looked at Neo-Sailor Mars, who was the “specialist on Mars.” Jupiter cleared his throat before continuing… The plan was simple. Very simple. With the Time Machine almost completed, they could send Neo-Sailor Mars, Neo-Sailor Venus, Neo-Sailor Jupiter, and Gae-dhal (and his children, on Gae-dhal’s insistence) to the future to help train the reincarnated Female Sailor Soldiers. Their mission now was simple and direct: ensure that the reincarnated Females know how to fight better than ever before, so that they could defeat the Negaverse in the future. That was their goal. The Male Sailor Soldiers were too weak to fight. They were aging, were too old, and were too battered to continue the redundant battles. That was the reason why they deviated from their oaths to defend the Universe from evil. They wanted peace, for they were tired to fight any longer. This would be their final fight. It would be. They were angels, once. And even Fallen Angels want to fly once again…
