Poem based on Japanese Manga


With a shot to the back and the plunge of a blade,

Their love abruptly ends.

Separated by the dark waters of time,

They hear whispers of long ago.

Whispers of secret meetings,

A love that couldn't be.

The sounds of laughter,

And tears float around them.

Standing on the river's banks,

They wish for one last

Kiss and embrace.

Like smoke swirling in the wind,

They fade away.

Both longing to see the other,

Just One last time.

They continue floating on the winds,

until their souls meet in a different

Time and place.
