Sleepover Neilrose PG SAILOR MOON the usual stuff Serena and Lita have a sleepover and bond in this sweet tale. Although, Galaxia is mentioned, it could take place anywhere between R and the beginning of Stars. Enjoy and all comments welcome. "Hello, girlfriend!" Lita opened the door and was immediately greeted by a petite bundle of energy, her adorable face framed by twin, blonde, thigh-length pigtails. Smiling, the Amazon Sailor welcomed her friend and Princess into her new studio apartment. Her emerald eyes fell on the box wrapped with pink, bunny-designed papper that Serena was holding with a proud expression. "What's in the box?" She tried to keep the trepidation out of her voice. "A chocolate cake for the both of us," Serena crowed. "Made by yours truly." "Really." 'Oh, terrific. Death by Concrete'. "Before you make any comments, just try it. I worked really hard on it and I followed the recipe to the letter. Of course, Mom helped out a little." Lita took the cake out of the box and put it on the table. It actually looked edible. She then took her forefinger and dabbed some frosting on it . Lifting it to her mouth, she tasted it. So far so good. The Jovian then sliced a sliver and lifted it to her mouth, tasting it. It was good. Serena acutally made a cake that looked normal and tasted quite good. Would the mirales never stop. The two Scouts planned the sleepover as a bonding between them. The Inners all bonded as sisters as a group, but there was never really any one-on-one between each Sailor, particularly between the others and the Amazonian teen. Serena was the first to befriend her and thought this would be a good way to really get to know her. "Where's Rini?" Lita asked as she went to the kitchen to get two plates, two glasses and a bottle of Diet Coke. "Little spore's with Darien," Serena chirped while checking out Lita's DVD collection. "No romantic evening with 'muffin'?" "I needed a babysitter. Besides, I figured you might want some company and there is really nothing special going on. The rest of our so-called 'friends' planned a 'Girls Night Out' and didn't invite either one of us." "So, we have our own night?" "Looks like it. What's for dinner?" The good thing about Lita was, although she was considered "the team muscle", she also happened to be quite domestic, giving Martha Stewart a run for her money with her skills. The Jovian prepared a Cajun-Italian meal which she and Serena inhaled gleefully as they chatted about boys and other gossip. Lita got two smaller plates and forks while Serena turned on the television and DVD player. It was a peaceful evening with nary a youma in sight and the only activity was two sweatshirt-and-jeans-clad teenagers watching "Final Yamato". Tears flowed like rivers and the walls echoed with wailing sobs as Captain Okita sacrificed himself and the Yamato to save the earth in the heart-wrenching, moving climax. The mood was then uplifted, courtesy of a "Lupin III" double feature. At around one in the morning, the girls got ready for bed, yet it was Serena who fell asleep. Lita stood on the balcony, leaning over the railing dressed in green, shorty pajamas, and smiled as Luna glimmered in her emerald eyes. "Serena, Serena, Serena," she purred as she entered the room and closed the sliding door. "Where did you come from?" The Jovian glided back to the bed and sat on the edge, stroking her friends long, unbound, golden tresses. Serena Hart. A barely five-foot, lovable goofball with a pure, loving heart and gentle soul, who befriended a five-ten tomboy who had gotten into numerous fights at her old school. After she had transferred to Crossroads, all the students were afraid to approach her, but Serena just walked right up and welcomed her. Since then, Lita would have done anything for the Moon Princess, including laying down her life, which she had done several times. Serena stirred and opened her eyes, seeing Lita regarding her warmly. The Amazonian slid under the covers and lay on her side, head propped up on one hand while stroking Serena's hair with the other. "What's up?" Serena asked. "Nothing," Lita replied. "Just wondering where you came from." "Where I came from?" "Where did someone with such a pure heart and soul like you come from?" "I don't know. Silver Millenium?" "I love you, Serena. You're the sister I never had." "Well, thanks. The feelings mutual." "You love everyone and you forgive them, no matter what. Whether it's the Black Moon Sisters. The Amazon Trio. Amazon Quartet. Nehelina. Even Galaxia. No sin is so great as to be unforgiveable." The Jovian Scout leaned forward and embraced Serena warmly, the Moon Princess accepting and feeling comfort in the larger girl's arms. As they released, Serena noticed that Lita was not sleeping, but smiling. "Lita?" She whispered. "Can I ask you something?" "Sure," Lita replied. "What is it?" "When you say that so-and-so reminds you of your old boyfriend, are you referring to Tommy or Nephrite?" "Nephrite, I guess. I always thought he had such perfect hair." "You didn't fight him, did you?" "When he betrayed Queen Selenity and the Kingdom, yes. But, three years ago? No. You must have fought him before I transferred." "Well, Molly had a thing for him, too. Before Melvin." "She did?" "She also forgave him, even though he was evil at the time." Lita pondered at that. Suddenly, a thought crossed her mind. "Serena?" The Jovian rasped softly. "You ever think of Steven?" "Of the Starlights?" Serena replied. "Not really. Not lately." "S/he had a major crush on you." "I know. If it wasn't for hir and the others, I would've given up against Galaxia." "You ever think about if and when you and Darien may not be together in the future?" "Please. I've already been down that road and I hated it. The little fungus didn't make it any easier." "I know, but suppose Darien said that he was seeing somebody else and that you could see Steven?" "I don't want to. I love my Muffin." "I know, but what if tommorrow he said that he was going out with Raye and that Steven wanted to go out with you?" "I'd probably kill them both." Lita smiled at that, amused that Serena was as jealously possessive of Darien as Amara was of Michelle. A thought occurred to her as she was playing with her friend's golden locks. She thought about an epidsode of "Power Rangers Time Force" where the Rangers' leader Alex came from the future and told Wes that he saw Mr. Collins die and Wes take over the company. Yet, Wes refused saying that people have a right to make their own destiny. "I was wondering," Lita intoned, "if you truly love Darien with your heart or because you two were supposedly destined." "What brought that up?" Serena queried. "I was thinking of that Power Rangers episode where the future leader told Wes his prediction." "And he says that everyone makes their own destiny." "Right. Not to ruin anything and nothing against Darien, but is it absolutely imperative that you marry him? Would the future be so screwed up if you didn't?" "Well, if I don't marry him, the little spore wouldn't be born. That might be a good thing." "What if she were born anyway, even if you weren't the mother? Suppose Raye was the mother?" "Then, I'd say that they deserve each other." "You really don't like Rini, do you?" "Let's just say that she really works my last nerve and that I am tired of it. Speaking of tired, what say we get some sleep. Night, girlfriend." "Night. Sorry if I kept you up." "Don't worry about it. See you in the morning." Serena dropped off as Lita kissed her forehead. The Jovian's warm smile broadened as she gave her friend's hair a final stroke and turned over to go to sleep. 'Thank you, God, for giving me such a wonderful friend.' Tada. A nice little female bonding. I made sure to keep this clean, although I thought I read somewhere that Lita may be bi. I could be wrong. Anyhoo, in case folks are wondering about the "s/he" and "hir" references, we all know that the Starlights are essentially female Sailors that pose as a boyband on Earth, thus they are male and female at the same time, hence the terms. The idea came from an old 1972 anime GATCHAMAN (aka BATTLE OF THE PLANETS-1978) where the main villian Berg Katse/Zoltar is what's known as a gendermorph. S/he was born fraternal twins, but Sosai X merged them into one being so Katse can morph from male to female, hence the term and hence the "hir" and "s/he" references. Hope that clears things up. Also, Steven is a name I coined for Seiya as a possible "Dub" name in case Stars is dubbed. Enjoy the tale and let's hear from you.
