Sailor Moon/Dragon Ball GT: The Return Chapter Four: Convergence “Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires. The eye wink at the hand, yet let that be Which the eye fears, when it is done, to see.” --The Tragedy of Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, Act One, Scene Four, Lines 57-60 “Hurry, Sailors!” Luna cried, running all out, the eight female warriors, Derrak, Artemis, and Tuxedo Mask running close behind. They were heading for the warehouse district, hoping that this new force was not as evil as Sailor Doom, that this new warrior might be a bit gentler. “Oh my God…” Sailor Uranus whispered. She stopped. The others did as well as they reached the warehouses. A bright light was flying in the sky, every now and then hurling white energy balls at the abandoned storage facilities, burning them to the ground. Mercury whipped out her computer and visor, already checking for power readings. “It’s higher than the last time I checked it,” she said. “We are in trouble…” “What are our chances of beating it, whatever it might be?” Mars asked, impatient. Mercury started tapping into her computer. “Pretty much zero without our help,” a soft voice said. Mercury and the others looked to the side. Sailor Pluto and a slender figure wrapped in a soft cloak of forest-green standing on the sidewalk. “Pluto!” Sailor Moon cried. “Where have you been?” “Finding another warrior to aid us in the coming battles,” Pluto said. She motioned to the cloaked figure with her hand. “Please, my lord, introduce yourself.” The cloaked figure took a step forward, bowed, in a regal fashion, and said softly, in a melodic voice, “I am Drizzt Do’Urden, renegade prince of the House of Daermon N’a’shezbaernon, fallen eighth house to the throne of the Dark elf city of Menzoberranzan; a ranger humbly serving Gwaeron Windstrom, humble ranger and servant of the Forest Goddess Mielikki.” Drizzt pulled off his hood and shook out the tangled locks of his stark-white hair. “I am honored to meet you, Warriors of Love and Justice.” The others looked at the dark elf ranger with a weird expression. “Um…” Sailor Moon began, finding her voice. “Uh…hi, um…what are you?” she asked, noticing his black skin, white hair, and, most prominently, his pointed ears. “You’re not Spock from Star Trek, are you?” “What is ‘Star Trek’?” Drizzt asked. “He isn’t a Vulcan, Meatball Head!” Mars whispered sharply in Sailor Moon’s ear. “To answer your question, milady,” Drizzt continued, “I am a drow, or, more commonly, a dark elf. I am pleased to make your acquaintances.” Drizzt bowed low. “I have brought him to Earth from his home world of Faerun, a far-away land which is located in another dimension,” Pluto explained, “He has agreed to help us, even though we cannot reward him with anything more than our gratitude.” “I serve the cause of good, Lady Pluto,” Drizzt said to her, “I do what is necessary for good to survive.” Pluto smiled. “I also told him everything. About the Silver Millennium, about your true identities, about your powers. I also told him that only humans, plants, and animals live on Earth, and that the monsters we will fight are creatures from another realm. I explained our situation to him about Sailor Doom, and I told him all that I can about your fight with the Dark Sailor.” “Why did you tell Drissit that there are only plants, animals, and humans on Earth?” Mercury asked, not realizing that she had mispronounced Drizzt’s name. “On Drizzt’s home world, there are monsters and elves, dwarves, and such living with humans. However, Dark elves are known as merciless killers. Drizzt is the exception. He does not possess the cruelty of his people, and has forsaken his nobility as a prince to become the humble warrior of good that he is today.” Drizzt bowed his head, pulling his hood over his face in humility. He looked up at Mercury. “By the way, Lady Mercury,” he said, “my name is pronounced ‘Drizzt’ and not ‘Drissit’.” He rested his hands on the hilts of the twin scimitars of his hips. “But the mispronunciation of my name is a common occurrence. Pay it no heed.” Mercury flushed from embarrassment. She rarely mispronounced anything, and she considered her mistake very rude. Apparently, Drizzt’s pride didn’t mind. “Now, to more pressing matters,” Drizzt spoke with a calmness that came from many years of experience. “Our first priority is to neutralize that flying object that is destroying everything.” He pointed up to the sky to indicate the flying ball of white light. “I rely on my considerable experience to come into situations prepared. And, as such, I have brought with me my bow and arrows.” Drizzt threw back his cloak, revealing his sword-belt. Two scimitars hung on opposite sides of the belt, and a quiver of arrows was tied behind one of the scimitar sheaths. “Being a creature of magic, I can easily tell that the flying white ball in the sky is extremely powerful, but that is quite obvious.” Drizzt reached behind his back as he said this and produced a black onyx figurine shaped into a panther. “Thus, I propose a simple plan: You young ones distract our flying friend while I try to knock it down with an arrow or two.” Drizzt set the figurine on the ground and mumbled something. A gray mist encircled the figurine. The mist condensed into a huge, sleek panther, muscled flanks rippling, golden, saucer eyes shining. “This is my friend, Guenhwyvar,” Drizzt explained, seeing the amazed expressions on the younger warrior’s faces. “We can handle the more difficult parts if the plan. Just try to keep that flying ball up there from seeing us.” With that, Drizzt and Guenhwyvar disappeared, not a trace of their passing evident. “Here it comes.” Pluto pointed up to the sky. The white ball flew straight at them. The gateway opened up directly in front of Goku’s flight path. Frieza flew out of the gateway, which shut behind him. “WHAT!” Frieza roared, recognizing the black hairstyle of the Saiya-jinn who killed him twenty years ago… “IT IS GOKU!!!!!!!” Frieza went into a rage, firing blasts of energy from his hands, wildly hurling energy bombs at Goku, trying to kill him. “DIE, SAIYA-JINN! DIE!” Goku stopped his flight, comprehension and sense returning to him. He noticed Frieza firing at him and easily dodged the attacks. “Frieza!” he said venomously. “I’ll get you, Saiya-jinn bastard!” Frieza yelled, firing several laser blasts from his index fingers. Goku swatted each blast away with a stroke of his arm. “He’s gotten stronger,” Goku said to himself, noticing the burn marks on his arm from batting away the lasers. “I better be careful.” Frieza formed a flat, rotating disc of blue energy in his hand. The disc was about a foot in diameter and was spinning at a high rate of rotations per minute. “You remember this little attack, don’t you, Goku?” Frieza said, sneering. “Yeah,” Goku replied easily, “isn’t that the attack that chopped you apart?” Frieza’s face contorted in rage. “Ha! You were nearly killed by your own attack twenty years ago, Frieza! What makes you think you can possibly defeat me? I’m a thousand times stronger than when I first fought you!” “I’m a million times stronger than I was twenty years ago, you arrogant monkey!!!!” Frieza hurled the disc, yelling as he did so, “KIENZAN ATTACK!!!” The disc flew unerringly at Goku, who dodged it easily. Frieza made a gesture, and the disc came right back around, once again flying at Goku. The Super Saiya-jinn turned to face the disc, hands parallel to each other. White energy gathered between his palms. “Kame Hame…” The energy condensed into a ball, Goku waiting for the precise moment… “KAME HAME HA!!!” Goku released the energy at the disc as it came only a few feet from him. Goku’s Kame Hame Ha blast and Frieza’s Kienzan disc collided and exploded, canceling each other out. Goku turned back to face Frieza. “You’ve most certainly improved, Frieza,” Goku complemented. “So have you,” said Frieza. “What are those two things up there?” Sailor Moon asked. “The one with the monkey-like tail has an enormous power reading, but the white-and-purple guy has a power rating that’s even higher!” Mercury reported. “I have been able to analyze their brain patterns and have concluded that the one with the monkey tail is a good guy, and the other one is pure evil. I have not been able to assess any weaknesses yet, however.” “Time to die again, Frieza.” Goku began throwing blasts of energy all around Frieza, who merely created an energy shield with one hand. Goku’s attacks merely slammed into the shield without any effect. “I am the stronger of us, Goku!” Frieza declared. “Yes, I can sense your power level. It is indeed beyond my own.” Goku smiled. “But remember: I killed you twenty years ago, and my power level was drastically low compared to yours!” “Ah, yes, but you became a Super Saiya-jinn. I have surpassed your Saiya-jinn power level, Goku, and now I am supreme!” Frieza threw several more Kienzan discs, but Goku dodged each one of them with ease. “Guen,” Drizzt whispered to the cat beside him on the rooftops, “I can sense the food in the one with the monkey tail. I can also sense the evil emanating from the smaller warrior. I have listened in on their conversation, Guen, and the smaller warrior, named Frieza, is the one I want you to attack!” The panther seemed to nod and smile, as if understanding her master’s words. “Get going, Guenhwyvar.” “Full attack, Sailor Scouts,” Derrak aimed his pistol at Frieza as he said this. “Whenever you’re ready, Scouts.” “Moon Scepter Elimination!” “Mars Celestial Fire Surround!” “Shine Aqua Illusion!” “Jupiter Thunder Clap Zap!” “Venus Love Chain Encircle!” “World…Shaking!” “Deep…Submerge!” “Silence Glaive Surprise!” “Dead Scream…” The eight attacks combined with a barrage of roses from Tuxedo Mask and several pistol shots from Derrak, shot out at Frieza, and struck dead on. “ARRRR!!” Frieza roared in agony and rage at being struck on his blind side. He whirled around to see eight women, two men, and two cats. “These simpletons were able to hurt me…not good. That means that they are strong. Very strong.” He turned back around to face Goku. “I don’t have time for this! My master has ordered me to bring you in, Goku! You are now the key to the release of the ultimate fighting machine in the universe! My master requires your power!” “I didn’t know you had a master, Frieza,” Goku sneered. “I thought you were supposed to be an Emperor, not a servant.” Frieza’s face flushed with rage. “I DID NOT WANT TO BECOME A SLAVE! THE MAN WHO CONTROLS ME NOW IS A BILLION TIMES STRONGER THAN THE TWO OF US COMBINED!” “WHAT? Someone stronger than the BOTH of us? That can’t be possible!” “It is VERY possible, Goku. This man is called Sailor Doom. His power is…is…is BEYOND what we can ever attain! He is like a god, Goku!” “No one should have that kind of power…” Goku looked thoughtful. “Frieza, I must defeat him!” “Don’t be a fool, Saiya-jinn! Sailor Doom is too strong! You’ll never beat him alone!” “Then help me, Frieza.” “ARE YOU NUTS!? ME? HELP YOU?” “Look, you want your freedom, I want to ensure that this ‘Sailor Doom’ guy never gets a chance to use his ‘god-like’ powers. You want to be free. I want to safeguard the lives of innocents. I think that’s a good compromise. A truce until we kill Sailor Doom. What do you say?” Goku extended his hand to Frieza. “Do I have a choice?” Frieza grasped Goku’s hand. Goku knew he had just made a pact with the devil.
