Sailor Moon: The Three Waves of Destruction Wave Three Chapter One: Sailor Doom Sailor Doom’s penetrating gaze bore into each of the assembled heroes. Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Venus, Sailor Saturn, Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, Luna, Artemis, Tuxedo Mask, Opal, Perrigon, and Derrak. Each had a stake in this fight. Each knew that death was a very possible threat. But they would fight. Even the elusive Shadow Hunters would fight. They would not let this monster live. The Imperium Silver Crystal started to flash. It radiated a soft white glow. The Crystal was warm, the heat emanating from the Crystal causing Sailor Moon’s flesh to tingle with anticipation. Sailor Doom noticed the Crystal, and raised his hand, energy gathering in front of it. “Sailor Moon!” Tuxedo Mask cried out, just in time. Sailor Doom fired the energy ball he had created, and Sailor Moon managed to duck out of the way, taking a slight nick on her back. She was forced to the ground from the ensuing explosion as the energy ball slammed into the ground. Sailor Moon looked back to see a smoking crater where the ball had hit. The Crystal flashed angrily. Sailor Doom fired a laser blast, this attack soaring at Sailor Moon, too fast for her to get out of the way. Tuxedo Mask screamed out a warning; he started to get in front of Sailor Moon before the blast hit her. But he was too shocked to move when he saw what happened next. The Crystal flashed, and a pink dome formed around Sailor Moon’s body, shielding her. The laser blast slammed home, only to be stopped by the pink dome. The Crystal’s glow intensified, the heat of the Crystal becoming more and more intense, searing Sailor Moon’s uniform. “Impressive,” Sailor Doom bellowed. He had to admit the girl was doing quite well against him. He drew his sword from its scabbard. He moved toward Sailor Moon. His huge girth loomed over the young girl. Sailor Moon fell onto her rump, overwhelmed by the sheer power that emanated from this dark warrior. Sailor Doom raised his sword high into the air and brought it down, hard. “Dead Scream.” A purple ball of light shaped into the planet of Pluto flew at Sailor Doom, slamming into his sword, diverting its path of decent so that it sliced into the ground instead of Sailor Moon’s pink dome. Everyone looked up to see Sailor Pluto, holding her staff, and a taller armored warrior standing beside her, a beautifully crafted broadsword in hand. They were standing atop the roof of a building. “So, the Guardian of Time and her armored boy-toy have finally arrived.” Sailor Doom said sarcastically, eyeing both of the newcomers dangerously. Sailor Pluto responded by aiming her staff at Sailor Doom, purple energy forming at its head. “Dead Scream.” The energy ball slammed into Sailor Doom, knocking him down. The evil Sailor stood up and leaped into the air, landing out of the alley and into the middle of the street. Sailor Pluto and the armored warrior jumped down to land beside the Scouts. “Pluto?” Sailor Mars asked. “Hello, Raye,” Pluto greeted, a cold tone in her voice. “Who’s the walking Tin Man?” Jupiter asked, pointing at the armored warrior. “My name, Miss Jupiter, is Kai.” Lord Kai said politely, bowing deeply, as if he were some knight of old England. Jupiter sighed at his chivalry. “Heh,” Jupiter chuckled softly, “He’s quite the noble charmer.” “He’s also dead.” Pluto said dryly. She saw the strange, incredulous stares she received from the gathered heroes. She turned to the armored warrior. “Take off your helmet.” Her tone was commanding. Lord Kai, ever obedient to his old lover, took off his helmet. Everyone except Kai and Pluto gasped at what they saw. Kai was indeed dead. His head was nothing more than a brownish, dirt-covered, skull. Empty black sockets were his eyes. Occasionally, those black sockets burned with a reddish light. He was missing some teeth and his face was held in a permanent, toothy grin, flecks of flesh stretched over the spots where his cheeks were. Some patches of dirty, gray hairs covered spots of his head. “Hey!” Sailor Doom’s voice bellowed from the street. The heroes all turned to look in Sailor Doom’s direction. They had nearly forgotten about him, engrossed were they when in studying Kai’s decaying skull. “Hey!” the evil Sailor Soldier called out again, “I’m getting bored over here! Mind fighting me? I thought you were the ‘Champions of Justice’! Fight me then! Because I surely will fight you!” With that, the evil Sailor’s eyes flared and a pair of heated lasers shot from his pupils. Sailor Moon activated her Crystal again, the same pink dome appearing. This time, however, the dome encased all of the heroes and not just her. The twin lasers pummeled into the dome but didn’t penetrate the powerful barrier. “Impressive,” Sailor Doom muttered, grudgingly. The girl was good. Very good. “I guess I should evolve to my second stage form!” The heroes backed up a bit, the pink dome still up. Sailor Pluto leveled her staff at the evil Sailor. Sailor Uranus and Neptune followed suit, fists leveled at Sailor Doom. “I won’t let you live long enough to experience the touch of your evil second evolution, Doom.” Sailor Pluto promised coldly, purple energy gathering at the tip of her staff. “Kai, the Grail.” Lord Kai reached beneath the folds of his cloak, producing a relatively fair-sized chalice of solid gold. The chalice was engraved with strange designs. It was studded with a few gems and a gold cover with a red velvet outer lining covered it. The handle of the cover was shaped into a heart. “Sailor Moon.” Kai said softly to the female warrior. Sailor Moon turned to regard the undead knight. He threw the chalice to her, saying “Catch.” Sailor Moon caught it and instantly felt the goodly power flowing from it, like a river without a dam to block it up. The energy seeped into her very being, and the Imperium Silver Crystal began to emit a bight red light… Miran ran down the stone corridors of the castle. He had spent several centuries within these corridors, training with his former master, Sailor Doom. He wanted to become powerful, a being of justice and skills. But then, after several decades, he learned that Sailor Doom, despite his name, was no Sailor Soldier. He was once, he was one of the best, but no longer. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Miran knew that Sailor Doom had to be stopped. He couldn’t become a god. He couldn’t become the Super Sailor of the legends. If that ever happened the Dark God Chaos would appear. Destruction would devastate the Universe. Sailor Doom had to be stopped. And so, Miran continued to study with the most powerful being in all of Reality. With Sailor Serenity gone, Doom was indeed the most powerful fighter ever born. He had to learn from the best to kill the best. He had almost reached full power, almost became Doom’s equal. But then he had been found out. Miran ran past the observatory room and the throne room. He passed his dormitory and Sailor Doom’s private chambers. He passed the transport rooms, where the telepods were located. He finally came to his destination: Sailor Doom’s treasure vault. Miran took a step back from the huge iron door, the door that was magically sealed and warded, and raised an open hand to it. His hand started to glow, and a black ball appeared in front of it. The ball flew at the door and slammed into it, destroying the door. He had indeed become very powerful if he could destroy a door that was warded by the great Sailor Doom. Miran ran into the vault, rifling through the gems and gold coins, searching for the one item that was Sailor Doom’s power source. Even the most powerful fighter needed a weakness. He found what he was looking for, hidden among a pile of magical weapons. He pulled out the amulet from its hiding place. The amulet was rather large, it had to be to fit around Sailor Doom’s gigantic neck, and it was crafted from the finest silver. The chain consisted of many small silver links that were only was big as Miran’s fingernail, the many links joined together making the chain very supple and flexible. The amulet itself was silver and had raised runes all over it, including the reversed side of it. The runes were unreadable to his untrained eyes. Only Sailor Doom knew what those mystic runes said. But he guessed it said something about transformation, for he recognized only one of the runes, the rune that said ‘Polymorph’. The front side of the amulet had one gigantic emerald in the middle. The gem was the size of Miran’s head; the amulet itself was the size of his torso. The gem had a hundred facets that reflected his face in a hundred different viewpoints. “So,” Miran said to himself, his voice low in awe, “This is the Power Source of Sailor Doom.” Miran wrapped the huge amulet around his waist, wrapping the chain about his waist five times before there wasn’t anymore slack. He wore the amulet as a belt for his current purposes of transporting it. He left the treasure vault and made his way into the telepod rooms, stepped into one of the pods, and, in a flash, disappeared, heading for Earth. The light from the chalice grew even brighter, Sailor Moon’s eyes radiating a soft blue light. Her uniform began to glow, the skirt changing from blue to white, then blue again. Sailor Doom noticed this, and decided to put an end to Sailor Moon’s apparent transformation. He focused all of his power into a single ball of energy and hurled it at Sailor Moon, ripping through the pink dome, slamming into Sailor Moon’s back. The female warrior crashed onto the ground hard, the chalice flying from her hands and clattering a few feet ahead. Tuxedo Mask, enraged, charged the huge Sailor Soldier, hurling roses and waving his cane. Sailor Doom, with a swipe of his arm, batted all the roses aside, and with a slash of his sword, hacked Tuxedo Mask’s cane into two pieces, the large part of the cane spinning into a gutter. Sailor Doom kicked out with a foot, catching Tuxedo Mask directly in the chest, knocking him to the ground. Sailor Doom lifted his foot into the air, meaning to crush Tuxedo Mask beneath his foot. Sailor Jupiter prevented that from occurring. “Jupiter Thunder Clap Zap!” This was Sailor Jupiter’s largest lightning ball. She had never created a ball that big before. It was ten feet in diameter, the ball levitating a few centimeters above her palm. Lightning jumped around the ball. Power rippled from the ball in little waves, the white-blue color of the lightning ball intensifying. She threw the ball at Sailor Doom. The ball was too fast for Sailor Doom at cover. It rammed into his stomach, ripping out his back. The ball flew a few feet into the air, then, and finally exploded, sparks fell to the ground to sizzle away. Sailor Doom clutched at the hole in his stomach, trying to hold the blood and internal organs inside. He took a step away form Tuxedo Mask, and he, in turn, rolled away from the huge Sailor Soldier. Sailor Mars attacked next. “Mars Celestial Fire Surround!” The flame discs grew to ten times their normal size, the flames of each disc intensifying and turning a bright yellow. The heat from the discs was intense. Sweat beaded Sailor Mars’s forehead. She couldn’t take it anymore. She released the flame discs, and sent them at Sailor Doom. The fiery discs sizzled into Sailor Doom’s left leg, causing him to fall to one knee, his left leg torn and dripping with blood. “Shine Aqua Illusion!” screamed Sailor Mercury, a blast of water and ice cutting into Sailor Doom’s right shoulder, digging a large hole through flesh, muscle and bone. The attack was huge, to say the least. It was twenty times its normal size, and twenty times as strong. The attack was had ten times more pressure, and thus, more damaging. Blood oozed from the open wound, and Sailor Doom grunted with pain as he clutched the wound in his shoulder, staining his hands red with his own blood. “Venus Love Chain Encircle!” shouted Sailor Venus, the golden chain wrapping around Sailor Doom’s waist. The chain was still the same in appearance, with the exception that the chain now had rigid spikes coming out of each of the hearts. These spikes bit into Sailor Doom’s flesh, resulting in a pained roar escaping his lips. “World Shaking!” Sailor Uranus cried out, her energy ball growing to five times in diameter than it should have been. She released the attack, sending it rocketing at Sailor Doom, the attack colliding with him, an explosion erupting from the point of impact. “Deep Submerge!” Sailor Neptune’s attack also grew to five times its normal size, her attack also crashing into Sailor Doom, her attack pulverizing him. “Dead Scream.” Sailor Pluto’s attack didn’t change at all, the purple ball of energy slamming into Sailor Doom’s head, the huge fighter’s head snapping back, but then coming slowly back to the fore, blood dripping from his nose, a burn mark on his cheek. “Silence Glaive Surprise!” Sailor Saturn’s Glaive flashed with inner light. She jumped into the air, and came down on Sailor Doom, her Glaive aimed for his head. He twisted wildly, avoiding a fatal blow from the polearm, but, instead, received a large downward gash along his arm. He swiped with his good arm, and clipped Saturn on the shoulder, sending her frail form sprawling. Sailor Moon got up, saw the chalice nearby, and reached for it, gripping it tightly. She saw the undead knight standing a few yards away. “Hey,” she called out, “Kai, what do you want me to do with this thing?” The undead knight answered her. “Focus your energies into the Holy Grail, the sacred chalice of the gods, which you hold in your hands. Focus, that’s it, now, open your mind. Slowly, don’t rush it, good job. Open your heart to the Grail’s power. Now, use the Imperium Silver Crystal to unlock the Holy Grail’s full power. Good. Accept the power before you, Sailor Moon! Accept it and become that which Sailor Serenity was destined to be! Summon the power of the Holy Grail! Become Super Sailor Moon!” His voice increased in tone as Sailor Moon followed his instructions. Somehow, this meditative technique of opening her mind and heart came easily to the absent-minded Serena. The Holy Grail’s cover disappeared, the locket holding the Crystal vanished. The Crystal flew into the Grail, then a great light appeared from the chalice. Sailor Moon: The Three Waves of Destruction Wave Three Chapter Two: Sailor versus Sailor The light wrapped around Sailor Moon, engulfing her, tightening around her. She screamed in agony, the sheer power burning into her soul, ripping into her very heart and spirit. She couldn’t take it, she wasn’t strong enough, and yet, she had to be. Everyone was depending on her to become a Super Sailor, to become stronger than Sailor Doom, who was, even now, beating her friends up relentlessly, despite his grievous wounds. “Crisis!” Sailor Moon screamed out. She heard Sailor Mars’s cry of pain as she was slammed into the ground by Sailor Doom’s fist. “Moon!” Now she heard the cries of Sailor Saturn and Sailor Pluto, being pummeled into a building wall. “Power!” Her shoulder plates, which were made of the same material as the rest of her uniform, started to glow, then take on a new shape. They got longer, sleeker, sharper. They became transparent, layered plates that covered her shoulders. Her short skirt started to glow as well, but when the glow faded, the only change made to her skirt was that it was white with the colors light blue, yellow, and pink near the lining. A pink belt with a gold heart-shaped buckle appeared around her waist, the red ribbon on her back growing longer tails and turning pink. The transformation was over in an instant, and Super Sailor Moon was ready. Her uniform had a few minor changes: she now had transparent shoulder plates on both arms, a pink belt around her waist, a little heart-shaped belt buckle. The most prominent change was that her blue skirt was now white with a touch of yellow, sky blue, and gold. Her transformation broach was now shaped into a heart, and held a red heart-shaped ruby in it rather than the Imperium Silver Crystal. “What happened to my Crystal?” she whispered. “It is within you now, Super Sailor Moon,” Kai said reverently. “You must hurry, Super Sailor Moon; your friends need your assistance.” Sailor Moon nodded. Tuxedo Mask spun away, barely dodging another of Sailor Doom’s relentless attacks. The wounded Sailor threw several balls of black energy at the other Sailor Scouts, each of the young female warriors leaping out of the way. Sailor Doom looked to the side, where Super Sailor Moon was standing and his eyes widened in complete and utter shock. “What!” he screeched, “How can you? You! How can you be the Super Sailor!” He lunged at Super Sailor Moon, who leaped to the side, back to safety. Super Sailor Moon stood her ground, now, and faced the evil Sailor with a cold calmness that none of her friends had ever seen before. “I am Super Sailor Moon, the Champion of Love and Justice! I will right wrongs and I will triumph over all Evil! Including Sailor Scouts who dare to disgrace that rank, that sacred oath that all Sailor Soldiers make when they accept who they are! I will not allow you to continue your evil no longer! I will not tolerate your vileness any longer! “I am Super Sailor Moon! And I will defeat you, Sailor Doom! In the name of the Moon, I will punish you!” “Impressive words, child,” Sailor Doom mocked, “but, you see, I have not, as of yet, shown you my true powers!” Sailor Doom went into a crouch, his muscles bulging, thick, corded veins sticking out of his arms, legs, and neck. “Let me show my ultimate power!” he screamed, a black aura flaring to life around his body. “CHANGE NOW!” he roared, his muscles bursting to ten times their previous size. He was transforming, was growing to his ultimate peak of strength. He was now two hundred feet tall, with huge, defined muscles, his uniform had been torn to pieces, his sword shattered from the energy output of his body. His skin was now green, with scales covering his featureless body. The only “features” were two points of red light on his head, where his eyes should be. He was like a god. Super Sailor Moon was not scared; did not yelp in fear, or run away in terror. She stood her ground. Her friends watched her intently. They were both shocked and proud at her instant courage. Tuxedo Mask was especially proud of his princess. “I will defeat you, Sailor Doom,” Super Sailor Moon vowed, the words ripping from her lips, “For my friends, my family, my future daughter and future husband, I will defeat you!” “Foolish child!” the transformed Doom roared his voice like a thousand cannons blasting in a battle of attrition, “I should have been the Super Sailor I was the one who was born with godlike power! I was the one who trained, no, fought for control of my own powers! I should have been the Super Sailor! Not you!” The enraged god-figure raised his hands at Super Sailor Moon, blasts of light, evil, black light, flaring from his palms. Super Sailor Moon raised one hand, blocking all of Sailor Doom’s attacks with a thought. Sailor Doom continued his relentless assault, trying desperately to kill this impudent girl. But she would not fall, would not even flinch. She was powerful. And, even though he didn’t want to admit it, he knew that, while Sailor Moon was clumsy and absent minded, she possessed more power than he did. She just needed the Holy Grail to unlock that hidden power. She was even more powerful than a god; she was a god. “Die, Sailor Moon!” he yelled, not wanting to use the word “Super”, as he didn’t want to admit openly what he knew in his heart. “I hope you rot in Hell, foolish child of Serenity!” Miran reappeared in a flash of light, right next to Super Sailor Moon, the amulet wrapped around his waist. “Recognize this, Sailor Doom?” Miran asked, removing the amulet from his waist and holding it aloft. The evil Sailor roared in anger at the sight of the amulet. “You damned traitor!” he screeched. Miran laughed in his face. “Don’t try to insult me, Doom. Its time to finish you off.” Miran turned to Super Sailor Moon, handing her the large amulet. “You cannot harm Sailor Doom,” he said coldly, “not directly. You must destroy his power source: this amulet. Many have tried to break it, but all had failed. You are the Super Sailor of the Legend. I believe that you are the only one who can stop him.” He looked straight into her large blue eyes, “Good luck, daughter of Serenity.” Miran ran toward the other Scouts, knowing that this fight was out of his league. Sailor Doom stared at the amulet, fear creeping into those twin red lights on his featureless face. All three Shadow Hunters caught their breath, each realizing that the final blows would be thrown here and now. Each of the eight Sailor Scouts could smell the upcoming combat, a more decisive battle than any that has ever been fought before. Lord Kai and Sailor Pluto knew that this battle would spell either the future of peace, or the birth of war. Super Sailor Moon looked at the amulet, tracing the runes on it with a gloved finger. Sailor Doom did not move, in fear that he might provoke her to destroy it. “As much as I am disgusted at seeing others take the life of someone,” she began, “I have no choice: you will die, Sailor Doom.” The cold, almost unemotional tone in her voice sent a shudder through Tuxedo Mask’s spine. He had never expected to hear his innocent Serena say such a thing in that tone of voice. “Crisis Moon Power!” she screamed, raising her fist and slamming it into the amulet, shattering it, turning it into dust with a single, super-powered punch. Sailor Doom shrieked, and it sounded like the world was coming to an end. The evil Sailor transforming yet again. Now he shrank, growing thinner, more humanlike. Soon the transformation was over, and Super Sailor Moon was now staring into the red eyes of a young human boy; no more than twelve year old, who was scared, plain and simple, and was thin, weak, and gangly. He looked at Super Sailor Moon with fearful red eyes. “Don’t hurt me,” he whispered in a tormented, childlike way that proved beyond a doubt that Sailor Doom had led a tormented young life. The child began to emit a red light. He screamed, as if in pain, then exploded, a bright flash engulfing both the child and Super Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon: The Three Waves of Destruction Wave Three Epilogue The explosion was deafening. It was like hell on earth. It seemed that the world had come to an end. For Tuxedo Mask, watching Super Sailor Moon become engulfed in the hellfire, his world did indeed seem to shatter. “We have to put out that fire!” he screamed, the roar of the hellfire drowning out his voice. “Sailor Mercury! Use your Aqua Illusion!” He really didn’t have to say anything about it. Sailor Mercury was already halfway to completing her attack by the time he said it. “Shine Aqua Illusion!” she cried, a blast of water and ice cutting through the flames and extinguishing them. Serena, plain Serena, lay there, naked and wounded, beside a burnt black spot on the ground where the child had once been. Tuxedo Mask rushed to her side, to worried to be embarrassed. He took off his cape and wrapped her in it, picking her up and cradling her as if she were an infant. The other Sailor Scouts and the three Shadow Hunters rushed over as well, worried looks in their eyes. “She going to live?” Opal asked. “I don’t know,” Tuxedo Mask answered. Perrigon, more battle-seasoned and thus, more knowledgeable in battle wounds, examined Serena’s wounds. “She’ll live. I don’t know how she survived a point-blank explosion, but she did and she’s going to be alright,” The other Scouts breathed an audible sigh of relief. Serena’s eyes opened slowly, then she had to blink several times to clear her vision. The first thing she saw was Tuxedo Mask’s face. “Darien,” she coughed. The smoke from the fire had gotten to her. “Shh,” he said softly, “Get some rest. You’ve done enough already.” Miran walked up to the Scout’s side. “There is one bit of a problem left to handle,” he said, voice grave. The others looked at him. “Sailor Doom had originally wanted to release a monster named Mistress Nine. He needed a fusion generator, however, and had me hire a professor who was experimenting in light-speed fusion generators. His name is Professor Tomoe.” Sailor Saturn gasped slightly at the mention of her father’s name. Miran eyed her intently. “I take it you know Tomoe?” he asked her. “Yeah,” she stammered, “he’s my father.” “Your father was the unknowing pawn in Sailor Doom’s game. We had no need for a fusion generator. Just the power it could supply. But now that Sailor Doom is gone, I suppose I will have to make sure that Mistress Nine stays where she is. I have done some clandestine research about fusion generators based on theories, essays, and reports from various races. I have concluded from my research that Mistress Nine can be held in her domain in hyperspace using fusion energy. The only way she could ever be released is through corrupted fusion energy, which Sailor Doom was going to do. “So it seems that your father’s research will have some use after all, Sailor Saturn. I suppose I should continue my guise as President Miran of Miran Industries. It should be a minor task to create a phony executive building as well as create monetary items to compensate your father for his work. I would appreciate it if you all kept this under wraps.” “Don’t worry about that, Miran,” Jupiter said, winking at him. “Good,” Miran said simply. “I guess I had better be going. Too bad about Sailor Doom; he was a remarkable man.” Miran turned and walked away, fading away slowly, eventually vanishing altogether. Serena looked up at Darien. “It’s finally over.” The End End of Wave Three Terminal Program End Hyperspace Link Open Link Active Warning! Warning! Hyperspace Link Corrupted! Sailor Soldier 153: Codename: Doom: Status: Virus Enabled The ghostly, shadowy form of Sailor Doom swam through the endless void that was hyperspace. Sailor Doom’s spirit lived on, and it had found the heart of hyperspace.
