The Anti-Dubb

When I first got right into Japanese version of BSSM, I was shocked. I thought "Wow! What some people have been missing!"

It was great! I was pleased with what I saw. Now, I grimace at "Sailor Scouts". But I have seen worse than grimacing at Sailor Scouts. I must admit, the english dubb changed a lot. It is almost scary, a paranoid world. Some people say they don't enjoy the dubb, but they don't go on, trying to get people to join them. Others, it is not so. I will show a few changes people complain about.

#1-Names
Good Thing-Kids have an easier time pronouncing them. They can easily say "Michelle!" or "Trista!" or even "Serena!" then some of the Japanese names.
Bad Thing-Most of these names have nothing special about the charecter. Serena-means calm. Some say that Serena sounds like "Serenity". Woo hoo! Its still differant, and it doesn't mean Rabbit.

#2- Dialouge Good Thing: Some people can relate to it better then some of the things that the original words say.
Bad Thing: It almost changes the charecter. Rei is no longer the understanding, sometimes tempermental girl she was, and was switched to a crazy, almost anti-happy Usagi.

#3- The voices Good Thing: Kids might have an easier time understanding english (lol). They also enjoy something they can fluently understand.
Bad Thing: Picture this: You go to Japan and suddenly, you walk past a couple of native Japanese girls with heavy countrai stoile accants. Er...country style accents. Nope. That would be pretty scary.

#4: Content Good thing: Some people have a hard time dealing with same gender relationships, and certain scenes that were in the Japanese version.
Bad Thing: I think that the original content added a little bit of spice to the show/manga. Its a bit of shame, but dubbers will do what they gotta do!

There may be more, but these are several outstanding changes. As you can see, every one has a better side;every one has a worse side. Nothing is perfect, so we must learn to deal. Thank you for reading this!
