I want to voice my opinion of the difference between Darien (dub), Mamoru (original version), and Mamoru (manga).

#1: Darien's personality
In the manga, Mamoru seems so much more caring, understanding, and definitely much more romantic. He just comes off as the perfect guy; sweet, understanding, loving, caring, etc. I have never seen the original anime, so I can only assume that he is similar to his "manga self", because that is what I have read. And yet, no matter how "perfect" Mamoru may be in the other versions, 'Darien' comes off (to me) as a less perfect guy. He seems colder, harsher, ruder, and honestly, because of this, it makes it hard to like him sometimes. He is much less romantic, because the dub cuts out so many good parts of him comforting Usagi.

#2: Tuxedo Mask: Protector
In the Manga, Tuxedo Kamen has more than just a rose and cane! He has his own power, 'Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber', and his own crystal (the Golden Crystal). He seems much more able to protect his friends. Once again, I can only assume that he is just as able to protect the senshi of the original anime. The dub, however, ruins him yet again. He only has his rose and cane, and he does not have the Golden Crystal. He also has the tendency to sound idiotic with his cliché speeches. Also, his priorities seem a little messed up: In the episode that Rei's dream mirror was taken, Darien had to stay at the temple, because the girls destroyed his apartment. While Sailor Moon and Mini Moon (Mini Moon; oh boy) are fighting to save Rei, they don't exactly have an easy time. Sailor Moon screams, and Darien hears her. Dianna tells him to ignore it because they are probably joking, and he listens to her. I think that if Darien knows when Serena is in trouble, wouldn't he know that she wasn't joking? And when Serena confronts him about it, he simply shrugs it off. I'd think if he loved as much as he supposedly does, he'd do more than that. These are just a few examples.
